A typical day on the peek starts out with the normal routine of getting up and prepped for the day. On a nice day, above 40 degrees that is, Buddy and Jakob go outside first. They have their own little area to run and play all day. Once they are situated we go into the cat room and ask "Who wants to go outside today?" Those among the kitties know if they are permitted outside, then they line up at the door to go out. At anytime during the day the temperature drops below the desired 40 degrees, if it becomes rainy outside or is within an hour of becoming dark, we open the cat room door again and call each of the cats back into the room. They come as called, sometimes 5 or 6 together at a time and file back into the cat room for their evening meal and a nice long nap. If we have any kittens in the room, they get put into their "beds" for the night where they can partake of their special kitten food and relax on a shelf, in a hammock or on a blanket in one of their specially equipped "creates". We create kittens at night so they can get their proper nutrition and not pester the adults. After all the cats are secured in their room Buddy and Jakob come in for the night.

As you can see from some of our photos, there is plenty of room to roam on the peek. Nearly 30 acres of brush, woods and high grass are utilized for our cat's daily pleasures. With all that area to explore you'd think there wouldn't be a cat in site when you come up the road. However, just try it and see, you will observe a greeting committee the likes of which you would never expect; just ask the UPS driver. He always has to sit on the steps for a minute or two just so they will let him leave. The greeting committee you will find, generally consists of Tipsey, Oreo, Calvin, Ranger, Anakin,   Cookie and sometimes Kerri. They will make sure you are welcomed in fine style, just don't try to leave too soon.
